Story
Those that know Fi & Nick know they don’t do things the ordinary way. So it came as no surprise, that instead of a traditional honeymoon, they toured Scotland to lift some of the country’s most famous and brutally heavy stones — all in aid of an amazing charity close to their hearts.
This tour marked Fi’s first ever attempt at a stone lift and Nick’s first attempt at the legendary Inver Stone at the Highland Games Centre, alongside other iconic Scottish stones. To add to the already tricky challenge — Nick took it all while battling advanced liver cancer.
To their delight they smashed their £1k target and the total keeps rising!
The tour brought both so much happiness and positivity and kept their minds off the cancer stress — that Nick’s decided to keep on lifting stones to raise awareness of cancer, mental health and this amazing charity! The challenge however, is now getting a little more brutal as Nick has started intense cancer treatment — but he’s not going to let it stop him,, so under the guidance of his cancer team he’s going to stay as strong as he can and keep lifting stones! Fi might even attempt some of the lighter ones too!
👉 Please support their journey if you can — by either donating or sharing to help turn every lift into real impact on those who need it most.
About the charity:
Combat Stress are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.
For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
They’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, they’re there to help them tackle the past and take on the future.
Combat stress have given amazing (ongoing) support to both Nick and Fi over the past couple of years for which they are truly thankful. This is there way of giving back so they can continue with their brilliant work.
