Story
Following popular demand from various different agencies and organisations to create a fundraising link to share, I have set this up as a nice big final fundraising push to get the 4th statue made for the memorial. Any money paid into this campaign via this link on Just Giving will go DIRECTLY into the bank account of the registered charity, National Military Working Dogs Memorial.
Construction on the memorial has begun and now, the last remaining bronze life-size statue to pay for, is RAF Police search dog Buster who achieved remarkable things throughout his life.
Buster is unique in that he did five tours of duty, in three different war zones. He, alongside his handler, Flight Sergeant Will Barrow were among the first into Afghanistan and amongst the very last teams out of Iraq. Buster became known as "The dog who saved a thousand lives" due to the exemplary work he carried out searching for bombs, explosives and weapons during his career. As well as carrying out this very important job, he was also responsible for the raising of morale wherever he went, as can be read about in Flight Sergeant Barrow's book (the proceeds of which, go straight into this fundraising campaign, if purchased from us - click the following link to purchase). Purple poppies and other merchandise are also available via the following link.

Buster lived a long and busy life, and had a happy retirement where he lived with his handler in Cyprus, enjoying time in the sea and running on the beach with two other dogs.
His statue will join three others, all of whom had various different roles within the military. These will form part of a larger memorial in Flintshire in North Wales, where everyone can visit, whether they are service personnel or civilian, to pay their respects and thank all of the military working dogs who have served our country.
We are close to our final target now, with only one remaining statue left to pay for and we are hoping that with this one last big fundraising push we can get Buster put into bronze to forever proudly represent his colleagues.
