Strathaven Balloon Festival is the largest volunteer led community event in Scotland. For three days, hot air balloons from across the UK will take to the skies, providing a breath-taking spectacle for visitors of all ages. Local bands, musicians and community groups have the opportunity to perform before a large audience on our main and bandstand stages with a professional sound system, together with many other family fun events and entertainment.

Our free to attend family event is held in Strathaven Park and regularly attracts over 40,000 attendees over the weekend. As a registered charity, we receive no public funding and rely entirely on fundraising through sponsorship, donations and stalls. The charity has no paid staff and is run entirely by local Strathaven volunteers who give up their time freely to support the success of this community event.

Taking place on 22nd, 23rd and 24th August this year, we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary, and are now actively seeking the financial support of sponsorship or donations to allow the event to go ahead.

We also offer a unique opportunity to promote local businesses at the event by sponsoring some of the events costs, displaying your advertising banners/logos, and promoting your business on social media/press.

We also welcome donations from businesses and members of the public, and in doing so you will help ensure the event takes place year on year.
