Story
In October we (Alison, Colin, Ethan, Jo, Karen, Natalie, Sarah, Sophia, Toni) are traveling to Delhi to volunteer for Asha, an Indian NGO that has been working in the slums of Delhi for over 35 years.
Asha, which means “hope” in Hindi, strives to improve the infrastructure of the community, empowers and trains women, educates the children and young people and offers healthcare to all. It works with people of all backgrounds, caste, faith and ethnicity to promote dignity, acceptance, justice and help people reach their potential. Students from the slums are now able to study at university including some who now study for a PHD abroad.
We will be working in the Asha centre in Seelampur slum to help serve the community including games and craft with the kids, English with the students, serving meals to the elderly and redecorating the centre by painting murals in the classrooms.

We want to raise £5000 as a team to support Asha’s work transforming the lives of some of the poorest of the poor. The money will be sent to India direct via Friends of Asha (GB). If you are a UK tax-payer, please remember to gift-aid your donation, so your money goes even further.
