Team: ATG Three Peaks Challenge for Refuge

24 Hours. 3 Mountains. Supporting Women Escaping Abuse. · 23 May 2026

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

This year I’m taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge - climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours.

That’s nearly 40km of hiking, over 3,000 metres of ascent, and very little sleep in between. Plus ~460 miles of driving in between (though thankfully I'm not also driving!)

I’m doing it as part of the ATG team to raise money for Refuge - a charity that supports women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime and on average one woman is killed every 5 days in England and Wales by a current or former partner.

Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse and runs the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline that provides the first step to women escaping abuse.

They provides life-saving services, from emergency accommodation to specialist support, helping people rebuild their lives safely and independently.

This challenge will be physically tough, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by those Refuge supports every day.

By kindly sponsoring me today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and their children.

If you’re able to donate, even a small amount will make a real difference.

Thank you so much for your support - it genuinely means a lot.
