Story
The Mountains Goats are a group of colleagues from Manchester Met who are interested in tackling some of the biggest mountains across the UK. Our inaugural challenge was last year when we took on the National Three Peaks Challenge, raising over £2,500 for the First Generation Scholarship Programme at Manchester Met.
This year, for Manchester Met’s 200th birthday, we are getting the band back together and taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, once again raising money for the First Generation Scholarship Programme.
The First Generation Scholarship Programme is Manchester Met’s award-winning programme to transform at least 1,000 lives by 2025. It aims to support young people from the North West whose parents or guardians didn’t go to university starting with pre-entry activities. Those who chose to come to Manchester Met, receive ongoing financial, pastoral, and extracurricular support from pre-entry, including help with applying and preparing for university. Please follow this link to find out more.
The band currently consists of Steve Broom, Sue Brown, Stuart Cannell, Lizzie Carmody, Rhiannon Ewing-James, Helen Kirby-Hawkins, Emese Murphy, Ian Phillips, Nina Pryce, Josh Riggs and Sam Partington.
If you are interested in taking part, please get in touch with Stuart Cannell via s.cannell@mmu.ac.uk or Microsoft Teams.
Please donate now to support this incredibly impactful award-winning programme. Thank you for your support.
