Campaign by Chapter2 (RCN 1177011)
The 2026 Father's Day challenge is to cover 50 miles and a height equivalent to England's tallest mountain in just 24 hours. All in support of our mission is to end the waiting list for fatherless boys in need of a male mentor.

Story

Last year, I met a Chapter2 volunteer taking on a 100km ultramarathon. After hearing about the work that Chapter2 do, I knew it was a charity I wanted to be part of.

My own sons are now adults and finding their way in life, supported by both parents. Not every boy has that and that's why I’ve become a mentor with Chapter2; to support a boy who hasn’t had a consistent male role model.

In Reading and nearby areas, around half of boys will not be living with both parents by age 15. Many lose contact with their father, which can make life much harder as they grow up.

This Father’s Day weekend, a group of us will take on a tough challenge in the Peak District National Park, walking 50 miles in 24 hours, including climbing the height of Scafell Pike.

Our goal is to raise £100,000 to help tackle the fatherless crisis and support boys who need it most.

Thank you for your support, it means a lot to me, and will help the boys that Chapter2 support.
