Annual Charity Cycle ride · 23 June 2024

Mission Statement To provide a process that enables Leyland Trucks and its Employees, Customers and Suppliers to help the disadvantaged in the wider community, particularly where worthy causes are local to the plant, or are connected to our employees and their families

Story

Helping Hand is the charity run by Leyland Trucks’ employees. It’s dedicated to helping us support and participate in making positive changes in our community.

Over the past number of years we have built community links that have seen us successfully raise £100,000 in well-being events such as Running, Walking, Cycling and even pulling trucks! These are collectively called Linking Leyland.

We currently have 3 events planned this year:

23rd June - The Leyland Trucks’ Truck Pull is back! It’s a little different this year - we’ll be using our newly launched XB model at a pull staged onsite at Leyland Trucks. Teams will compete to see who can pull the XB truck the fastest with the winners earning bragging rights for a full 12 months!

29th June - The St Catherine’s Hospice cycle event, which this year will feature 3 rides:

o The 4 climbs challenge is our toughest ride ever taking in 3 of the 100 best climbs in the North West

o A 60 mile wind catcher ride around the Southport plain

o The ever-popular Guild Wheel ride.

7th July - The annual Cuerden Valley 10km run which was our largest participation event ever last year
