In January 2025 I have challenged myself to take on HYROX to help raise money for people living with cancer. The event takes places almost exactly 2 years since my own head and neck cancer surgery. For this reason it's a deeply personal challenge for me, a reminder of how hard that time was, and how grateful I am to now be in remission and healthy enough to compete. It's also a celebration of the lives of my mum and dad who had their own cancer battles. In case you're wondering, HYROX is a fitness event that combines both running and functional workout stations, where participants run 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times. It's exhausting and hurts a lot, but it's not cancer!

Anyone who has been unfortunate to get a cancer diagnosis knows first hand how proactive and supportive Macmillan Cancer Support is there from diagnoses through treatment and beyond. I'd be so grateful if you could help me reach my £400 pledge, which could run the Macmillan Support Line phone service for 1 hour. There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today and none of us really never know what's around the corner. Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
