Wing Walk 2024 · 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024 ·

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire, caring for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age, both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.

Story

On 7th.September I will be doing a Wing Walk to raise funds for our local Childrens’ Hospice , Chestnut Tree House .This wonderful charity is dedicated to meeting the needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The devoted staff and a merry band of volunteers ensure that the youngsters have support , much love and tender care as well as happy experiences , lots of laughter and fun. Families and friends are quietly helped and supported through their most trying and saddest of times. So to do what I can to help this great cause I have decided to take on this challenge. Running the hospice costs around £5 million pounds per year , almost entirely raised from legacies , fund-raising events and gifts from hundreds of kind and generous people . Your gift will support and encourage these very brave youngsters and their loved ones. On the day of the Wing Walk I will be 90 years 1 month and 30 days old .
