Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

I have had the privilege of walking many Caminos throughout Spain, France, and Switzerland, as well as the 88 Temples of Shikoku since I retired 10 years ago. This time, I am embarking on a personal trek titled 'Trekking the Unknown Caminos', where I will walk over 1,000 km (675 miles) along routes that have remained largely untouched for centuries. I will begin my journey in Bayonne on 20 May 2025, and conclude at Finisterre, traversing the Camino Baztan, Camino Olvidado/Viejo, Camino San Salvador, Camino Primitivo, and Camino Verde. I will also spend two days on the bustling Camino Francés before reaching Santiago de Compostela and continuing to Muxia. My adventure culminates at the Bronze Boot and Km 0 at Fisterra.

Walking is a simple yet profound act that connects us to our surroundings and to each other. As I share my experiences on my Facebook page 'The Man in the Blue Blazer', I invite you to join me in this journey of discovery. Along the way, I will meet incredible people and witness breathtaking landscapes.

This trek is not just about personal exploration; it is also about supporting a cause close to my heart—Saint Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough. This charity provides essential care and support to those in need during challenging times. My Probus branch (Driffield) is proud to support this charity this year.
