Story
Recently, our very first ambulance, call sign 8003, was parked outside one of our responder’s residence when it was collided into by another driver. The damage was significant enough to write our vehicle off.
In the meantime Dudley Community First Responders have been down to two operational vehicles across 20 active volunteers significantly reducing our ability to respond to local emergency calls. The vehicle was owned by Arrive Alive, and whilst the insurance will pay out for some of the cost, it does not cover the cost of the new vehicle and we have a shortfall of around £6,000. It's a huge target but with your help we can get a third vehicle back on the road! This walk is to raise money towards the wonderful team at Arrive Alive who have supported us in Dudley CFRs and help close the gap in the cost associated with replacing our first vehicle. A bit about Arrive Alive below:
'Arrive Alive is Britain’s only registered charity of its kind, dedicated to funding lifesaving voluntary operated vehicles that are dispatched following a 999 call and can arrive within those vital seconds/minutes due to being based directly within the community.
Every second counts, more vehicles are urgently needed to enable more lives to be saved.
Arrive Alive is solely funded by public donations.'
There are numerous great causes that deserve your donation but I hope that you can spare even just a little bit towards our efforts to support Arrive Alive. They have always been there for us so it's a chance to return this generosity and help them do what they do best. Providing lifesaving vehicles to Community First Responder schemes across the region!
