Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page inspired by Lewis Moody.
In June 2024 I was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in the form of a grade 4 glioblastoma tumour.
On 19th October 2024, in the middle of treatment, I walked 17 miles along the River Medway from Maidstone to Tonbridge with 50 friends, raising nearly £18000 for The Brain Tumour Charity.
Almost a year later I watched Lewis Moody sitting on a sofa with his wife, telling the world of his MND diagnosis.
And I cried.
It took me right back to my diagnosis, sitting on my sofa telling my children and reassuring them that I would not give in.
It was like looking in a mirror and I was struck by Lewis' attitude to dealing with it. An attitude which exactly matched my own.
I knew Lewis was a supporter of The Brain Tumour Charity and he has his own Foundation dedicated to finding a cure for brain tumours.
The least I can do is repeat that walk on 18th October 2025 to raise funds for an equally desperate search for a cure for an equally cruel disease.
