Hi everyone thanks for taking the time to read this.

Back in September 2021 my dad passed away from this awful disease. It transformed an ultra fit, energetic man (whom I have no doubt could have completed this challenge back in his heyday) into a shell who could not remember his own wife's name nor my brother's (Neild) or mine.

It was sad to see such a decline over what was probably around 5 years.

Both Neild and myself have done these Ultra races before but priorities had changed for a few years whilst both our parents were ill.

I have been lucky enough to gain an entry into the Ultra Tour of the Lake District 50 Mile race in July 2024. So I've decided to do it for Charity, in this case Alzheimer's Research UK.
