Stuart Broadhurst is running 50 miles around Andover for 50th Birthday (Julie Bartlett set the fundraising page up on his behalf, she is not participating in the challenge)

The Countess of Brecknock Hospice provides outstanding palliative and end-of-life care to people living with life-limiting illness, together with comfort and support for their loved ones and carers. All services are free, testament to our belief that dignity and comfort should be accessible to all.

Story

On 13th April 2026, starting at midnight, I’ll be running 50 miles around Andover to raise vital funds for the Hospice. As someone who has lived in Andover all my life and who also manages Type 1 Diabetes, this challenge will be tough, but is very personal and important to me.

I will be running six loops of 7.5 miles, starting and finishing each loop at my garage, before taking on a final 5 mile push to the finish line at Stannah on Watt Close, East Portway Industrial Estate. I am aiming to complete the entire challenge in under 12 hours.

I am dedicating this challenge to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, a cause close to my heart. Last year, my father lost one of his best friends, and the Hospice provided exceptional support to the family during an incredibly difficult time.

In an amazing show of support, Stannah - my employer - will be match funding every pound I raise. This means every donation will be doubled and every penny will go directly to supporting our local Hospice.

Your support would make a huge difference supporting this amazing local Charity, which gives so much love and care to the local community and surrounding villages.

Thank you.

Stuart
