Story
I am taking part in the Brodies Camino Challenge: Step Up for CHAS - a 67km walk along the Camino de Santiago Trail over 3 days in what can only be described as torturous conditions (we're sharing rooms in hostels along the way). To train for this arduous challenge, I am running the 68km Devil O' The Highlands Ultra Marathon...
CHAS is Brodies charity partner, and our team of 22 colleagues will be trekking the final 67km of the Camino de Santiago trail, finishing in the city of Santiago de Compostela.
I am a dad and I cannot, as I'm sure no one can, possibly imagine how incredibly difficult it must be to be faced with the death of one of my children. CHAS provides unwavering care to children who may die young and to their families, at every step on this hardest of journeys. I will be thinking of them every step of my training and during the challenges.
CHAS supports young people pre-birth to 21, and their whole family, in hospices, children’s homes, and in hospitals.
CHAS are there for families at every step of the way, supporting them in life, death and beyond, and their ambition is that no-one should face the death of their child alone.
