24 Hours of Tennis for The Shakespeare Hospice

Joe Alexander is raising money for The Shakespeare Hospice
In memory of Hannah Alexander

24 Hours of Tennis · 3 October 2026

The Shakespeare Hospice offers specialised care and support to patients, their loved ones and carers across South Warwickshire and the surrounding areas. Our reach extends beyond the traditional Hospice walls, providing expert support within our local community and patients’ own homes.

Story

It's that time of year again, I'm another year older and yet somehow no wiser. I'll be playing tennis for 24-hours straight from 3rd to 4th October 2026 at Stratford upon Avon Tennis Club, from 12 noon on Saturday through to 12 noon on Sunday.

I'm raising money for The Shakespeare Hospice Children's and Families Service, which provides compassionate support to children and families facing some of life's most difficult moments. Whether helping children cope with the serious illness of a loved one, supporting families through bereavement, or simply providing a safe place to talk, their team makes an immeasurable difference when it's needed most.

This cause is particularly close to my heart. I know first-hand how important specialist support can be for children and families navigating grief and loss. The kindness, understanding and care that organisations like The Shakespeare Hospice provide can help families find strength during the darkest of times, and ensure that no child has to face those experiences alone.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help The Shakespeare Hospice continue providing these vital services to local families. If you're able to support me, I'd be incredibly grateful. And if you're nearby during the Tennisathon, please come along, get involved, say hello, have some tea and cake, and help keep us going over the full 24 hours!

Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can help ensure more children and families receive the care, comfort and compassion they deserve.
