Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am Subha Thiyagesh, and training to do one of the toughest things I have ever done in my life so far. I am embarking on this incredible journey in mid-October to the foot of Mt Everest to Everest Base Camp at an elevation of 5364m (17,598ft) and will take gruelling 12-day journey covering over 130 kilometres. It is a test of endurance, commitment, determination and coping with fear of heights and the unknown. I have been training for this for the last few months such as having done the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge, Yorkshire and Derbyshire dales hikes and daily walks.
I am raising money for a cause close to my heart – to contribute to Ey Up ! charity, making a difference to the people of Yorkshire through community, mental health, wellbeing and learning disability services. Having worked in mental health for a number of years, I appreciate the challenges that vulnerable people in our communities face. The funds raised would help Ey Up! charity to support patients, carers and loved ones to have better lives, boost their recovery and be the best they can be.
Thank you so much for reading this and hope you can donate generously – every little helps!
I believe that your support will spur me on with my training and hopefully will inspire a lot more people to do things out of their comfort zone and by doing so, improve their mental health and well-being.
I will keep you all updated of my training and progress and fingers crossed that I am able to successfully get to EBC and back home to Yorkshire!
