Story
Violence and conflict has been tearing Sudan apart since April 2023, creating the world’s biggest humanitarian catastrophe.
The armed conflict has displaced an estimated 15 million people, 53% of whom are children. Many are living in temporary camps where conditions are abysmal.
Famine is spreading fast across Sudan and desperate families face a daily struggle to get food.
Around 28,700 people are estimated to have been killed, but the real death toll is likely to be much higher as fatalities are believed to be underreported.
Despite the challenges Islamic Relief has delivered vital aid to more than 1.2 million people all over the country.
