I'm going to knit, sew or crochet every day in November because I'm passionate about funding Alzheimer's Research UK's vital research.

I am an eye surgeon and often have to deal with patients with different types of dementia and in various stages of the disease. It is heartbreaking for the patient, families and carers but also very challenging from a doctors perspective. Simple things such as understanding the wishes of the patient and whether surgery will be of benefit or not, which are the cornerstone of informed consent, become very challenging. We need a cure for this disease.
