Story
We are taking part in the Santa Paddle for Alder Hey Children's Charity on Saturday 29th November and we'd love your support to reach our fundraising target.
This will see us paddle 2.5km as a 2 person team, through the Liverpool docklands in the dark, decorated in Christmas lights for all to see. As an added bit of amusement and challenge Sue has never been in a kayak before, so this seems like an ideal time to learn! But don't worry, she'll have a life jacket...!
Why are we doing this?
As our friends know our darling Ella has been under the care of Alder Hey hospital since she was diagnosed with Smith Magenis Syndrome at birth. She regularly attends outpatient appointments where the various medical teams offer a friendly and accommodating welcome, in 2019 following a sudden cardiac arrest the intensive care team provided exceptional care and compassion for the month she was in a coma which made all the difference to a family fearing the worst. Now Ella continues to be looked after, and we have no doubt that this will be done in a caring and supportive manner for the time we have left together.
The charity provides the extra support and human touch that families like ours need in their times of crisis and anything you can give will make a difference.
Thank you for reading, and for your donation to this worthwhile cause!
