Why support the event?

We're giving this concert in support of SSNAP because of the incredible care they gave to baby Louis and his parents, Laurence and Amy, the son and daughter-in-law of close friends of mine.

Louis was born prematurely at just 27 weeks and was transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he spent several months in intensive care. During that time, he underwent multiple operations to treat brain bleeds and bowel complications. His family faced an incredibly difficult and uncertain journey.

Throughout it all, SSNAP provided invaluable practical and emotional support, giving Laurence and Amy the help they needed when they needed it most.

Thankfully, Louis is now home and thriving. This concert is our way of saying thank you and helping SSNAP continue to support other families facing similar journeys.

About Nicholas Woods

Nicholas studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was an Organ Scholar and Sub-Organist at Southwark Cathedral. He won several prizes, including the Academy's Recital Diploma, its highest performance award. He also holds degrees from the University of Reading and Durham University, and is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Organists and Trinity College London. He has been the Musical Director of Hook Choral for 30 years.

About Sue Austin

Sue has played the piano since the age of seven and completed all grade exams while at school. Soon after moving to Hartley Wintney in 2013, she met Nicholas and began taking piano lessons again after a long break.
