After running London Marathon in 2024 for Headway after Izzy's accident and brain injury, in 2025 I wanted to support another charity that meant something to us. As Izzy recovered she needed a wheelchair. Initially to get around the hospital, or pop out to Costa over the road to meet visitors but as she started to learn to walk again we started to venture a little further from the hospital and she really could not walk very far so her wheelchair gave us all some real freedom.

Sometimes like with Izzy the need is temporary but for many children this is a vital piece of equipment so they can enjoy a happy enriching life.

Over 75,000 young people in the UK need to use a wheelchair to be mobile.

Unfortunately, they cannot access the equipment that meets their needs through local services. This is where Whizz Kidz comes in.

Whizz Kidz are the UK’s leading charity supporting young wheelchair users up to 25 years old. They empower young wheelchair users with the equipment, support, and confidence-building experiences they need to take an active role in society. The Whizz Kidz goal is to create a movement for progress towards a more open and accessible world.
