Story
This year, I’ve felt a growing pull to do something meaningful — something that could genuinely change another person’s life.
In March 2026, I will be travelling to rural Kenya to volunteer with https://www.thenasiotrust.org/, a charity that supports vulnerable families and gives young children the chance of a brighter future.
While I’m there, I’ll be helping to build a safe and secure home for a family who desperately needs one. I will also be spending time in local early years centres, supporting the education and care of young children. For families in rural Kenya, something as simple as a solid roof and access to early learning is life-changing. It means safety. It means stability. It means hope.
This cause matters deeply to me. Having spent 14 years in the UK as an Ofsted-registered childminder, caring for children during their most precious early years, I understand the importance of providing a nurturing environment for young minds. Today, my work in the building and renovation industry allows me to bring these two parts of my life together - building a home and helping care for young children - which feels like the most natural and meaningful way for me to give back.
I will be organising fundraising events locally in the Gers, but for those who cannot attend, I would be incredibly grateful for any donation towards my target of 700 EUR. Even the smallest contribution helps provide tools, classroom resources, hot meals, and support for families who have so little.
Your kindness can help give a family a safe place to sleep. It can help a child take their first steps into education. It can change a future.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting this journey and for helping me make a difference.
