The Millstream Centre has been established in Benson Oxfordshire for many years mainly supporting our older villagers in the surrounding area.The Centre is a relaxed meeting place for senior residents of Benson and the surrounding villages.We want to support our customers to live independently, outside the care system, for as long as possible, by giving them good nourishment, enjoyable pastimes, and friendship.Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we provide a healthy two-course home-cooked meal.  We organise differing activities such as a seated keep-fit class, a sing-along choir, hand bell ringing, crafts, a film afternoon, quizzes, talks, and board games – all in a relaxed atmosphere.

This is a local charity that does invaluable work helping people to live in their own homes for as long as possible, as well as encouraging social interaction, fun and games. It provided an invaluable service during the Covid lockdown by providing outreach services to all who needed them, despite having a very reduced income stream.

Benson Millstream Centre relies on fundraising to enable it to continue to provide affordable support to all those who fall within the remit, an ever increasing number as Benson is expanding faster than its infrastructure can cope with (or for grammar nerds ‘faster than that with which it’s infrastructure can cope’). Let’s face it, we all hope to live long enough to fall within its remit!6

I have set a high bar for the total, but it’s only a tenner a year - donate now, it will be more next year!!
