Dad has been living well with Dementia for the past 10+ years.Thanks to the dedicated and superb care particularly from my mum and sister (with great support from her husband Stu) Dad has been able to live in the family home until recently.

Since November 2024 Dad has resided in " Sharston House" Nursing Home in Knutsford.Despite every effort to keep him living at home this became impossible due to him needing 24 hour care.Although this has been extremely upsetting for the family we know that he is very well cared for and is provided with a wealth of daily stimulating activities .

We are fortunate that Dad still enjoys a laugh and a joke and talking about his beloved " Timperley Hockey Cub" and favourite Football club -Manchester United.

As a family we have registered to walk 13 miles as " Woody's Wanderers" ,taking part in Trek26PeakDistrict2025 to help raise funds for Alzheimers.org.uk.The money will help fund research and help support patients and their carers.

I realise that there are many deserving causes worthy of donations but I would be extremely grateful if you feel you are able to donate.

I am walking for everyone affected by this dreadful condition and especially for my dad, a great family man, because to quote one of his favourite singers Tina Turner-he is "Simply the best".
