Hospice Strictly 2026 - Sue Fox

Sue Fox is raising money for Hospice of the Good Shepherd

Hospice Strictly 2026 · 5 September 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

On Saturday 5th September 2026 we are holding our own Hospice Strictly dance event inspired by the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ TV show, featuring local contestants paired with professional dancers, all competing for the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Story

Hi, my name is Sue Fox. I live in Chester and am extremely fortunate to have been CEO of Chester based firm M&S Bank. I am now retired from my executive banking career but still keep very busy. I have recently been appointed as Non Executive Director on the Board of Charity Bank and I chair ‘Business Beats Cancer Chester’ on behalf of Cancer Research UK.

While at M&S Bank, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd was our local charity partner and I was delighted that our people could support the amazing work the hospice does. I have had family members who have had the privilege of using the hospice’ services and I have seen first hand the invaluable, necessary and wonderful care that is provided. I am therefore delighted to play another small role in helping raise much needed funds for this very worthy cause.

Like many people who watch Strictly Come Dancing, I have watched in awe and dreamt that I could be the one being twirled around the dance floor. Of course you believe you would look like a consummate professional and everyone would gasp at your grace, elegance and expert execution of the technically challenging dance steps…….. That’s the dream but I’m sure the reality will be very different ! It’s fair to say that now I have signed up I’m terrified. My imagination has moved from ‘grace and elegance’ to ‘clumsy and ungainly’. The best I can hope for is something in between and I can promise everyone who supports me that I will give 100% to deliver the best performance I have in me !
