Story
I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 12th April to raise money for this charity close to my family's heart. My lovely mum was diagnosed in 2015 with wet macular dengeneration, the more serious of the two types.
Initially, this required monthly injections directly into both eyes, which was and still is, extremely distressing for her and very painful.
She then sadly went on to get a rare, serious infection, requiring urgent hospital admission and surgery, which quite literally saved the sight in the affected eye.
She thankfully battled through this like the absolute warrior she is !!
Since then, she has continued to have monthly/6 weekly injections at the brilliant Western Eye Hospital, with mainly positive results. New drugs are constantly being introduced and obviously this requires research and hefty funding.
I'd be so grateful if you could make a donation. I am proud to run this knowing it will help fund research into new treatments for people like my amazing Mum.
Thank you SO much
Sue xx
