Story
I will be striding (definitely not sprinting!) for Sidings Community Centre on Saturday 21st March at 9am in the Park Run on Hampstead Heath. I will be part of a great team of volunteers, well-wishers, staff and Trustees running or walking to raise funds to support the fantastic range of activities on offer at Sidings. This is our 3rd year for this event. First year in 2024 I came in last (ha!), and last year I had the grand privilege of being only 2nd from last (as per photo). With your help I can raise vital funds and may reach the dizzy heights of being 3rd last instead!!!
As many local people already know, Sidings is a much-loved and valued community hub in the heart of West Hampstead. We support, connect and celebrate our community through a 7-day-a week programme of affordable or free activities. Funds raised will go towards services such as our friendly nursery for 2–4-year-olds, the popular Sidings Youth Project, a wide range of creative and well-being activities for adults, Digital Inclusion & ESOL classes, as well as support services such as our weekend Food Bank and weekday Warm Hub Cafe. The centre also provides an important community base for lots of workshops and events in partnership with other local groups and Camden-council led projects.
But like many community and voluntary organisations, Sidings is facing challenges to continue our activities and pay the ever-increasing bills.
So – I will be joining our wonderful team of trustees, staff and volunteers who have offered to run (or stride) for Sidings at the park run on Hampstead Heath on Saturday 21st March. It would be great if you can make a donation to help me raise funds towards our Spring 26 fundraising target and better still join us at the Park Run on 21st.
BIG THANKS AND HAPPY SPRINGTIME TO EVERONE!!
