I'm taking part in the Great North Run, not just in celebration of my 60th Birthday, but to raise funds for Allergy UK in support of my Grandaughter Violet.

Anybody who has a child living with allergies should know that one wrong ingredient or cross contamination of the food could be potentially life threatening. Nobody should die from the food they eat. My precious Grandaughter Violet Mai has several food allergies; Eggs, Dairy, Wheat, Oats, Salmon, Avocado and Kiwi.

Living with a food allergy is an everyday battle. Despite these challeneges, it's important for society to be understanding and accommodating for those living with food allergies. People need to be reminded it's not a diet its a lifelong disease.
