Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

I'm walking 60 miles (100km) along the Suffolk Coast on Father's Day for Dementia UK in memory of my Dad, Pete, who we lost last year.

Dad adored the Suffolk Coast and lived and worked on it his entire life (Aside from a stint in the merchant navy where he worked at sea!).

That's why I have chosen to walk the Suffolk Coast from Ness Point in Lowestoft to Languard Point in Felixstowe.

Dad had Alzheimer's for around 5 years so I know and understand how difficult it is not just for the person but their families too. That's why I have chosen Dementia UK as my charity, as they have a team of specialised Admiral nurses who support people affected by Dementia and their families.

The target is a very specific £1934 because of my dad's birth year, 1934. This would be an amazing amount to raise and anything over would of course be even better!

Thanks for your time and donation, it means a lot. You can follow my progress on my Instagram page, here.
