Great Manchester Run 10k 2024 · 26 May 2024 ·

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

In October 2023 our Sugden Colleague Adam Robinson sadly lost his partner Shannon very suddenly to Sepsis. Sepsis is a life threatening condititon that arises when the body's response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs.

It occurs when the body's immune system - which normally helps to protect us and fight infection goes into overdrive. It can lead to shock, multiple organ failure and sometimes death.

In order to raise awareness of this indiscriminate and serious condition Adam and his colleagues from Sugden will be running the Manchester 10k on Sunday the 26th May 2024. Please help us raise money to show your support.
