Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page any donations and shares are greatly appreciated and will go a long way to spreading awareness.

** Some might find the message below an uncomfortable read **

I have decided to take on a tandem skydive in St Andrews on 30/6/25 to raise awareness for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention across the UK.

This is something that I personally have dealt with over the past 8-10 years a lot of that being suppressed until it got too much. For me that’s came in the form of crippling anxiety, severe depression, OCD and eventually planning to take my own life one night.

A persons mind can be the loneliest and scariest place they might even go to and sometimes no one knows until it’s too late. I could have been another statistic and that is something I think needs changing.

Men & women need safe places they can talk and open up without feeling isolated or that their feelings are wrong or uncommon. The social stigma of people needing to “man up” can then lead to those people thinking the only answer or release is suicide or the attempt of their own life.

So I’ve decided to jump from around 10,000 feet out of a mini airplane attached with a parachute rather than the bridge that I had originally planned & I hope many others follow my example.

Sometimes this topic of conversation and the language being used can be uncomfortable for folk but it needs to be straight to the point to raise awareness and highlight how important it is for people to feel safe and vulnerable to open up and prevent further life’s being taken too soon. Just one chat can change someone’s whole expectations on life and their future.

There are many charities and men/womens groups who do alot of amazing work, I also found church during my struggles so reach out to any of the above for support.

Thanks for reading and once again, any donations & shared links are greatly appreciated.

If anyone reading this needs to chat drop me a message.
