Sukhraj's fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society

Sukhraj Singh is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Hackney Half Marathon 2027 · 16 May 2027 · Start fundraising for this event

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Dementia has touched my family in a way that many others will sadly understand.

My uncle lived with dementia for several years before he passed away. Watching someone you love slowly lose their memories, independence and sense of self is incredibly difficult—not just for them, but for everyone around them.

Running wasn't something I ever imagined I'd do. At 40 years old and weighing over 126 kg, I decided it was time to change my life. What started as a journey to improve my own health has become an opportunity to support causes that have had a profound impact on my family.

As I work to build stronger memories with my own family, I'm also raising money to support those whose memories are gradually being taken away by dementia.

I'm running The Big Half in support of Alzheimer's Society because I want to help fund the research, care and support that people living with dementia and their families rely on every day.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help Alzheimer's Society continue their vital work and bring us one step closer to a future where no one has to face dementia alone.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting both my journey and this incredible cause.
