Sumedh's fundraiser for American Foundation For Suicide Prevention

Antwerp Marathon · 20 October 2024
Hello Friends and Family,
On October 20th, my friend and colleague Corey McCue and I will be running the Antwerp Marathon. We are dedicating our journey to support a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts: the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
Why This Cause?
Mental health is a battle many of us face, and it’s a struggle I know personally. There were times when the darkness felt overwhelming, and the idea of finding light seemed impossible. Running has been a crucial part of my mental health journey, helping me find strength, clarity, and resilience. With Corey by my side, we have both seen the profound impact mental health challenges can have on individuals and their loved ones. Together, we want to give back and support others who are facing similar battles.
About AFSP
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. They fund critical scientific research, provide educational programs, advocate for public policies, and support survivors of suicide loss. Their work is essential in helping to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and providing the necessary tools for those in need.
How You Can Help
We are reaching out to you to ask for your support in this cause. Every donation, no matter the size, will go towards making a significant impact. Your contribution will help fund programs and initiatives that can save lives and offer hope to those who need it the most. Additionally, our company, Mastercard, will be matching all donations 100%, doubling the impact of your generosity.
Join Us on This Journey
As we train for and run this marathon, we carry with us the stories and struggles of countless individuals who battle mental health issues daily. Running has taught us that on the other side of pain is tremendous growth and light. This will be my first ever marathon, and I will be attempting to complete it in under 4 hours, a personal challenge that symbolizes overcoming adversity and reaching for new heights. The race takes place during Mental Health Month, making this cause even more significant for us. Your support means the world to us, and together, we can make a difference. Let’s work towards a future where mental health is prioritized, and no one has to face their struggles alone.
Thank you for your generosity and for standing with us in this cause. Together, we can bring hope and change.
