Story

The breach of the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine has resulted in extensive flooding in densely populated areas downstream, including the city of Kherson. Ukrainian authorities, supported by volunteers have been conducting the evacuation of thousands of individuals from the affected regions situated on the west bank of the Dnipro River.

The Kakhovka reservoir, which is of significant size, had been a vital source of clean water for at least 700,000 people in southern Ukraine, as reported by the UN. The Ukrainian government has confirmed that hundreds of thousands of individuals are now without access to safe drinking water due to the breach. Furthermore, the reservoir played a crucial role in providing irrigation for vast agricultural lands.

We are currently mobilizing resources to urgently assist those who are facing the crisis of lacking drinking water and basic food supplies.
