Sunrise's fundraiser for Blackpool Carers Centre

Sunrise Support is raising money for Blackpool Carers Centre

CYCLE - London to Paris (over 3 days) · 3 September 2026

We provide specialist support, respite and outings for carers from the age of 5 years. Helping carers to create friendships, feel less isolated, strengthen their resilience and make happy memories. Making a Better Life for Carers.

Story

On 3rd September 2026, Sean and Nathan — Directors of Sunrise Care Support Lt, a Blackpool‑based care and support service for adults with learning disabilities — will begin an extraordinary challenge: cycling from London to Paris over three days.

The route will take them from central London through the English countryside, across the Channel, and onward through rural France before finally arriving at the Eiffel Tower.

They are taking on this challenge to raise £3,900 for Blackpool Carers Centre, a local charity that provides vital support to unpaid carers of all ages. The charity offers respite, emotional support, activities, counselling, and practical help to families who care for loved ones with disabilities, illness, mental health needs, or frailty.

As directors working daily with adults with learning disabilities and their families, Sean and Nathan see first‑hand how essential unpaid carers are — and how often they go without recognition or support. Their London‑to‑Paris ride is a way to give back, raise awareness, and help ensure Blackpool Carers Centre can continue delivering life‑changing services across the community.

To kickstart the fundraising, Sunrise will proudly pledge £2,000 towards the £3,900 target.

Every donation, large or small, directly supports carers in Blackpool who give so much of themselves every day.
