Sunrise Swims For Pieta House

Sunrise swims · 30 April 2025
Hey everyone,
Rory, Hugh, and Milo will be taking on a sunrise swim challenge this April—swimming every single morning at sunrise.
It’s not an easy thing to commit to, especially with the cold mornings and early starts, but what’s really pushing us through is the memory of our close friend Sebastian, who we sadly lost to suicide in 2023.
Seb was one of the kindest, most thoughtful people you could meet—always up for an adventure and always bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Whether it was jumping off Dún Laoghaire pier or cliff jumping at Bullock, sea swims were one of the things that brought our group together. Those moments created memories we’ll always hold close.
Sebastian’s passing was incredibly hard on all of us—his family, his friends, everyone who knew him. It also opened our eyes to how important mental health support is, and how vital the work that Pieta House does truly is.
This challenge is our way of honouring Seb’s spirit—by taking on an activity we all shared a love for—and raising funds for a cause that helps people when they need it most. We hope that by sharing his story and taking on this challenge, we can raise awareness and show support for anyone who might be struggling.
With love and remembrance for our friend Seb - a true spark of joy who brightened the lives of all those he met 💛
