Story
The World Literacy Foundation is a global nonprofit working to improve literacy and educational outcomes for children around the world. They provide books, digital learning tools, teacher training, and more literacy support to children who don't have access to these resources, reaching over one million lives every year.
I am proud to be a Youth Ambassador for the World Literacy Foundation as part of their current youth program, which is a global initiative bringing together young people from over 60 countries who are passionate about education, equity, and social impact.
Right now, 750 million adults worldwide cannot read or write, and 70% of 10 year olds in low and middle income countries cannot read a simple text. These numbers represent real children who are missing out on the chance to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Donating to this cause helps break the cycle of poverty. Literacy opens the door to independence, opportunity, and dignity, things as simple as reading a medicine label, filling out a job application, or understanding a school lesson. Every contribution goes directly toward giving children the tools they need to learn and thrive!
Even 350$ can make a real difference, as it is the amount needed to give one young person a full year of literacy support. Whatever you are able to give brings us one step closer to a world where every child has the chance to read, learn, and change their future.
