Story
I am reaching out to you with a heart full of love and a story that is deeply personal. My beloved grandfather and truly my best friend, Tom Monaghan, passed away from skin cancer one year ago. His passing followed that of my grandmother, Anna-Frances Monaghan, who also lost her battle with cancer. Throughout their final days, St. Andrew’s Hospice became not only a place of care, but became a home, providing them with the comfort and 24/7 care they required.
St. Andrew’s Hospice holds a special place in our hearts, as they embraced my grandparents with open arms and treated them like family. To celebrate their lives and honour their memory, I have decided to take part in a fundraising event that reflects only a small fraction of their courage and spirit.
With your help, I will be participating in the bungee leap event held by St. Andrew’s Hospice, where I will bungee leap from 160 feet. This leap symbolises not only the celebration of lives lost but also the courageous and fulfilled lives my grandparents led.
Every moment at St. Andrew’s Hospice was filled with love, respect, and brilliant care. By raising funds, we can help ensure that other families can experience the same extraordinary support during their most challenging times.
All donations will go directly to St. Andrew’s Hospice, allowing them to continue their valuable work and provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families.
Your generosity will not only honour the memory of my wonderful grandparents but also support a cause that is so important to many.
I thank you all for your support,
Rebecca Monaghan
