Help Safespots Keep Supporting Women Experiencing Domestic Abuse

Wythenshawe Safespots is raising money for Wythenshawe Safespots
Wythenshawe Safespots is a user-led domestic abuse charity based in South Manchester. Founded in 2016 by local survivors of domestic abuse, our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming space where women can access help, support, and friendship without fear or judgment. Since opening our doors, we have recorded over 32,000 engagements with women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse. Our drop-in centre, located in the heart of Wythenshawe, offers a confidential, non-judgemental service and acts as a vital hub for information, advice, and community support. We believe that information about domestic abuse should be easy to access and that no one should feel afraid to talk about it. Through our helpline and face-to-face appointments, we are here to help women rebuild their lives and find safety.

Story

For many people in our community, Safespots is more than a service — it is a place of safety, support, and hope when they need it most.

Every day, our team provides vital support to people who may be experiencing crisis, vulnerability, loneliness, or difficult circumstances. We offer a safe space where people can be heard, supported, and connected to the help they need. The work we do has a real and lasting impact — but we cannot continue without the support of our community.

Like many essential community services, Safespots has faced increasing challenges in securing sustainable funding. With a reduction in available grant opportunities and limited financial support available, we are now having to raise funds to help cover the costs of keeping our doors open and continuing this important work.

The need for Safespots has not reduced — if anything, it continues to grow. More people are reaching out for support, and our service remains a crucial lifeline for those who may have nowhere else to turn.

Closing Safespots would mean losing a trusted place where people can access compassion, guidance, and practical support. It would mean fewer opportunities for people to feel safe, valued, and supported during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

We are asking for your help to protect this vital service. Every donation, no matter the size, will contribute towards keeping Safespots open and ensuring that people in our community continue to have somewhere safe to go.

Together, we can make sure Safespots remains here, ready to support those who need us now and in the future.
