Story
Anyone who knows me knows how chronically lazy I've always been - but a couple of years ago, I finally experienced that fabled endorphin-rush of running outside and have been chasing it (on and off) ever since... I'll be dragging myself round The London Landmarks Half Marathon on 6 April 2025 with some beloved colleagues / friends and would be so grateful for your sponsorship, however small.
My wonderful father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in my last year of school, 25 years ago. At that time, he was given 5-10 years to live. Over a quarter of a century, he has received unfailingly world-class care from The Royal Marsden, both in Chelsea and Sutton, including pioneering surgery to remove two organs in 2018. My parents, both clinicians themselves, have spoken with nothing but praise and gratitude for all the staff there - from the administrators to the nurses, oncologists, surgeons, anaesthetists, scientists and researchers. Had they not been around, our family's lives would have been immeasurably different.
