Story
In memory of Roy Lomax who was the president of the Surrey Youth League. Roy was a stalwart of the league and the foundation on which it was built, grew and prospered. He was a committee member almost since its inception in 1966. He dedicated much of his life to this league and youth football in general. The SYL owes a huge debt of gratitude for his 50+ years dedicated service. He was an active member of the league and filled just every role over many years. In 2014 Roy along with his wife Pam was awarded with the FA Life Time Achievement award for Services to Football, they were presented with the awards on the pitch at the Charity Shield at Wembley by Sir Trevor Brooking. They also represented the League and were presented with an award at Buckingham Palace as part of select group of 150 guests to witness a football match in the palace grounds to celebrate the 150 years of the FA. The Lomax family has very kindly nominated the Bowel Cancer UK to receive your kind donations in memory of Roy. The SYL are very proud of Roy and are deeply grateful for the families and your generosity.
