Hello! I’m Susan Duxbury, PlayDirector at Scott ParkPlay in Burnley - and I’m running the 2026 London Marathon for ParkPlay!

I’ve been part of ParkPlay since 2024, and I absolutely love it. Seeing children, families and neighbours come together to laugh, move and play is one of the highlights of my week. As a primary school teacher, I know how important it is for people of all ages, and especially children to be active and outdoors - and ParkPlay gives them a safe, joyful space to do that.

This year has been a tough one for my family. My mum has recently passed away from cancer and my sister suffered a TIA. Training for the marathon gives me something positive to channel my energy into, and running for ParkPlay - a cause I truly believe in - means a huge amount to me and my community.

Your support will help ParkPlay bring more families together, support more communities, and get people moving together and connecting with others in more and more locations across the UK.

My mum taught me to never take your health or ability to move for granted - especially hiking and running .
