Mamignot Close Christmas Lights 2025

Susan Penniall is raising money for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Prostate Cancer Support Group
“Christmas Lights - December 2025”

on 6 December 2025

We support the physical, emotional and mental distress of persons with Metastatic (Advanced) Prostate Cancer and their partners and families, by offering confidential support and information, together with regular meetings, open to all within the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells (MTW) Hospital Trust. We raise money for hospital equipment for these patients. We want to heighten public awareness of value of a PSA blood test as an indication of possible Prostate Cancer, to help in early diagnosis.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For last year's Xmas lights we raised a massive £2,400 towards an outpatients chair dedicated to cancer patients at Maidstone Hospital Oncology Dept. The outpatients chair has been delivered and in use so thank you to everyone who supported us! With funds raised from previous years' Xmas lights and other fundraising events over the past few years we have purchased for Maidstone Oncology a flow machine, a mobile bladder scanner, an outpatients chair and funded training to provide acupuncture with ongoing support from the Group by purchasing the needles.

John was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in October 2019 and our support group has played a vital role in coping with his diagnosis. Our Metastatic Prostate Cancer Support Group has gained charity status and one of our aims is to raise funds for much needed equipment at Maidstone Oncology Department to improve and support the treatment of those diagnosed with cancer. We hold bi-monthly meetings for our members and their partners/carers to provide vital support and friendship amongst people going through the same journey. We have now developed our own website with useful information and events.

Our website address is www.mtwpcg.org

This year we are focusing on raising money to buy a vein finder machine for the Same Day Emergency Care Unit, a cancer-focused team at Maidstone Hospital based in the Charles Dickens Day Unit for urgent cancer care. Having access to a vein finder would provide significant benefit for all cancer patients.

All funds raised from the Xmas lights will go our support group registered charity Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Metastatic Prostate Cancer Support Group, charity no. 1209484 and will go towards the purchasing of equipment for Oncology and our members' wellbeing.

Thank you so much for your kind donation.
