I'm pleased to announce that I've successfully completed the 127 mile canoe challenge, Witney to Westminster! We paddled from west Oxfordshire to just past the Houses of Parliament, finishing below the South Bank Centre.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me, sponsoring me to raise funds for Adventure Plus's youthwork and particularly building our new Adventure Base.

The journey was exciting, but challengeing particularly due to the weather. We paddled through hail storms, thunder and strong winds, encouraged by your support and the people in Thamesside churches who made meals for us and gave us church hall floors to sleep on!

I loved the birdsong that accompanied us along the way, with sightings of kingfishers, barn owls, woodpeckers and swans, geese and ducks, too many species to list! It was a wonderful experience paddling through our beautiful countryside.

I love the way that A+ works with school groups, Duke of Edinburgh teams and young people with SEND. Currently I volunteer weekly with children with ADHD, who aren't in school but participate with the activities that we offer at A+. It's great to see them begin to engage with instructors and other youngsters, becoming socialised through physical activities and one-to-one support.
