Cycling the length of Inverness to London throughout March - Approx 500 miles · 1 March 2026

Mikeysline is a mental health charity covering the Highlands, Islands and Moray, supporting those in emotional distress. Born in 2015 after the tragic loss of two close friends, the charity strives to support all ages and genders dealing with crisis through text, online and face-to-face.

Story

I am raising money in memory of my brother Liam who we sadly lost last year. Liam and I often talked about going on a trip to London together which we never got to do. So, I am going to by cycling the distance from Inverness to London throughout the month of March - I am giving myself a two week grace period and aim to be finished by the anniversary of his passing.

My plan is to use my indoor bike and a road bike on weekends to complete the cycle which is around 500 miles (depending on route).

At Mikeysline, our ultimate aim is suicide prevention. We were established in 2015 following the suicides of two close friends within days of each other, Mikey Williamson and Martin Shaw, both aged 23. Our textline service was set up to provide an anonymous, safe, confidential way to access peer support, a listening ear from someone who understands what that person may be feeling, having their own lived experience of mental health issues. We also offer 1:1 support by appointment. Please visit www.mikeysline.co.uk/appointments to book.
