Paris to London Cycle · 11 May 2025

Founded in 1976 by children’s author Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare, our three farms welcome 3000 children and young people from underserved communities each year, helping them to step outside of their daily lives, learn new skills, grow in confidence and be braver, stronger and more resilient.

Story

I’m delighted to be joining our long-standing partners at TRAFiX and BMO on their annual 240km cycle (eeek!) to Trade Tech Paris for the third year.

As the Corporate Fundraising Manager at Farms for City Children, I wanted to support the team in raising vital funds for our charity.

Farms for City Children, founded by Lady Clare and Sir Michael Morpurgo in 1976, is a pioneering charity providing transformative, farm-based residential experiences for children and young people from underserved communities across England and Wales at our three working heritage farms in Devon, Pembrokeshire and Gloucestershire.

Our immersive residentials embed invaluable connections with nature, food and farming, providing a wealth of new experiences that young people can draw on to support their emotional wellbeing and resilience, alongside growing transferable life skills and self-expectations.

Our aim is to empower young people to be curious, courageous and compassionate citizens— for themselves, their communities, and the world they will inherit.
