As many of you know, our daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and Cataplexy at just 6 years old. Narcolepsy is a lifelong neurological condition that disrupts her sleep/wake cycle, making her feel every day as though she has been awake for 36 hours. Tasks that many of us take for granted-like getting up in the morning or getting ready for school-are daily battles for Charlotte. She relies on medication just to make it through the day and needs further medication to help her sleep at night.

Sadly, narcolepsy is a little-known condition and is often inaccurately portrayed in films, which is both irresponsible and disappointing. That's why raising awareness is so important to us.

Throughout this journey, Narcolepsy UK has been a lifeline for Charlotte and for us as a family. Their unwavering support and expert knowledge have helped us navigate difficult conversations with schools, ensuring that Charlotte receives the reasonable adjustments she needs to have a fair chance at education. They provide vital resources, advocacy, and a community for families like ours, and we are deeply grateful for all they do.

Inspired by Charlotte's courage and determination to step out of her comfort zone every single day, Rob and I are taking on our own challenge this July-we're participating in Tough Mudder! It's a grueling, muddy, physically demanding event, but every step (and stumble) we take will be for an incredible cause.

Our goal is to raise as much as we can for Narcolepsy UK while shining a light on this misunderstood condition. Please help us make a difference.
