We , Team Night Terrors, that's Lucas,Hannah and Sush will be Sleeping Out for one night to support Hope 4's Sleep Out to Help Out fundraising event on 23/2/2024.
We believe everyone should have a place to call home. Hope4 is an amazing charity working to do just that, and there is nowhere else in the Rugby area that has such an impact on so many vunerable people's lives.
All 3 of us through our Outreach roles have seen the amazing work the team do at Hope 4. Everyone that uses the centre is welcomed with warmth , no matter what an individual may be going through ,it helps to escape from it and brings Hope.
How? Each person receives a holistic, person-centred service - from the immediate need of a tent to longer term solutions including permanent housing and, importantly, gaining the skills needed to maintain a tenancy, employment and to address mental and physical health issues. Clients can use the Centre's facilities - showers, IT, laundry, clothing, tents, food, health clinic. A tailored support plan is developed covering their benefit claims, housing and job applications, health needs, immigration status.
By all means the sleep out does not replicate what it's like to be homeless but it does bring awareness of the situation that sadly many people are finding themselves in.
So to thank the team, at Hope 4 and to continue to support the centre we're sleeping out !
